Un fiasco chino (A Chinese Fiasco)

En la inauguración de los Juegos Olímpicos de Beijing, Lin Miaoke una niña en un vestido rojo cantó "Oda a la madre patria", en uno de los momentos más resaltados de la ceremonia por los chinos y al que le dieron mucha importancias y cobertura mediática. ¿Pero saben qué? Todo resultó siendo un burdo engaño, ya que la artista real era Yang Peiyi, a quien las autoridades chinas excluyeron de la ceremonia debido a su cara regordeta y a sus dientes disparejos, y porque la otra niña era más simpática.
At the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing, Lin Miaoke a girl in a red dress sang "Ode to the Motherland", one of the moments of the ceremony more highlighted by the Chinese and one that was given great importance and media coverage. But you know what? Everything was still a gross deception, because the real artist was Peiyi Yang, whom the Chinese authorities excluded from the ceremony due to his chubby face and his uneven teeth, and because the other girl was more cute.

El blog Amebas a la deriva puso un interesante meme que pienso seguir. Las reglas son simples sólo tienes que escoger diez discos (ya deberíamos llamarlos albums, ¿o no?). Obviamente estos son discos con los que vas a estar por largo tiempo en una isla desierta, -quizás el resto de tu vida-, así que tu elección tiene que ser algo con lo que vas vivir por largo tiempo.
The blog Amebas a la deriva put an interesting meme that I'm following. The rules are simple, you just have to choose ten albums. Obviously these are discs with which you will be a long time on a desert island -perhaps the rest of your life-, so your choice has to be something that you live for a long time.

La única restricción es que no puedes repetir los álbums de ningún cantante o grupo, así que escoge el mejor trabajo de un artista o grupo en particular. Dicho lo anterior, este meme lo paso a quien quiera seguirlo, eso sí sería bueno que me lo dejen saber...

Para este mes de agosto, el mes en que Bolivia celebra un nuevo aniversario de su independencia, quisiera compartir con los visitantes de este blog una de las canciones folklóricas de mi país "Mi sueño mejor", la misma que es creación de Gastón Guardia, integrante del afamado grupo Los Kjarkas. La canción en su forma original fue intepretada por Los Kjarkas y luego la gran cantante argentina Soledad Pastorutti, más conocida como La Sole, hizo su versión con el apoyo de Los Kjarkas.
For this month, August, the month in which Bolivia celebrates a new independence anniversary, I would like to share with the visitors of this blog one of the folk songs of my country "Mi sueño mejor" (My best dream), the song was composed by Gastón Guardia, who is a member of the famous group Los Kjarkas. The song in its original version was played by Los Kjarkas and after that the great argentinean singer Soledad Pastorutti, better known as La Sole, made her version with the support of Los Kjarkas.

Por si acaso, la palabra Kjarkas, es del idioma quechua, la misma que significa temblor, estremecimiento.
By the way, the word Kjarkas, comes from quechua language, and it means quake, shattering.
