Sabíamos que “La Niña” venía desde mediados del año pasado, pero ninguna autoridad se preparó para enfrentar tal situación.

Y la lluvia sigue cayendo…

Los ríos empezaron a desbordarse, y las turbias aguas se llevaron con ellas a paredes, muebles, casas y gente.

Los petrocheques fluyen a granel comprando conciencias, lealtades y adhesiones, mientras los bomberos sacan el agua y lodo con baldes y bañadores.

Se crean bonos para los niños y para los viejos, poniéndoles nombres bonitos y revolucionarios; pero luego se pide a los países vecinos que nos presten sus helicópteros.

Se rompe una tubería en Hampaturi, dejando a media ciudad de La Paz sin agua, y a los comunarios de ese pintoresco lugar no se les ocurre mejor idea que chantajear al Gobierno, pidiendo resarcimiento por los daños sufridos, ah, y cómo no también quieren conexión a internet. Sólo les faltó pedir pasaje a la luna. Y como la guinda del pastel, amenazaban con volar la represa de agua si el gobierno no cedía ante sus demandas.

Gente desesperada, aislada, hambrienta y sin auxilio médico, claman en todas partes por ayuda, mientras prefectos y presidente no se ponen de acuerdo sobre quién los atiende, y si dan o no el dinero destinado a atender las emergencias.

Las riadas se llevaron tres niñas, mientras su madre impotente clamaba por ayuda. Gente que se niega a dejar sus casas, que pueden venirse abajo en cualquier momento.
